Excellent opportunities for a Senior Control Engineer to join a skilled team providing technical development of warehouse automation solutions. We are looking for candidates with the ability to mentor Junior Engineers alongside developing & commissioning solutions.

Senior Control Systems Engineer – The Role:

• Lead control system projects from concept through to functional design, software development, and commissioning using Siemens equipment (PLC, HMI, SCADA)
• Oversee and carry out installation and commissioning activities
• Work split approximately 70% office-based and 30% site-based, mainly within the UK and Ireland with occasional EU travel; this ratio is expected to shift as the team expands
• Hybrid working options available

Senior Control Systems Engineer – The Person:

• Flexible to support commissioning activities on site
• Proven ability to develop PLC software from scratch, producing thorough documentation
• Must have experience with Siemens TIA Portal v18 or newer
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematic drawings and safety circuits
• Experience in intra-logistics, baggage handling, or FMCG automation preferred
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and support their development

These roles are based in the East Midlands, commutable from within and around Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Grantham.  Hybrid working IS available for these roles. Site work can be in the UK and the EU and currently sits about 50/50. As the team expands, this should reduce to 60% office, 40% site. This is an established business with a new head of Engineering who is keen to create a positive environment alongside a good work/life balance.
