We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer and supplier of advanced CNC machinery. This is an excellent opportunity to work with industry-leading equipment, supporting customers across the UK with installation, maintenance and technical support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring customers receive first-class service, maintaining high levels of machine performance while building strong, long-term customer relationships.
Service Engineer Scotland - The Role:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of CNC machinery at customer sites throughout the UK.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing, commissioning and servicing CNC machinery.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, equipment inspections and site surveys.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and PLC faults to minimise customer downtime.
- Responding to breakdowns and completing repairs efficiently and professionally.
- Providing operator training and technical guidance where required.
- Maintaining regular communication with customers before, during and after site visits.
- Completing accurate service reports and maintaining service management records.
- Identifying opportunities for spare parts, repairs, upgrades and service agreements, referring these to the commercial team where appropriate.
- Working closely with colleagues to improve first-time fix rates, service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety procedures.
- Attending technical and service meetings as required.
Service Engineer Scotland - The Person:
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience as a Field Service OR Maintenanc Engineer supporting industrial machinery, machine tools or CNC equipment.
You will also have:
- Strong electro-mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience diagnosing PLC-controlled machinery.
- A recognised engineering qualification.
- The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good IT skills and confidence completing electronic service documentation.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working with CNC machine tools or steel processing equipment.
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience across complex industrial machinery.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
- Commissioning and operator training experience.
