Control Panel Wirer - The Role

 

As part of the Automation department, you will play a vital role in building, wiring, and installing control panels for cutting-edge production machinery.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Assembling control panel enclosures—building plinths, bays, and side panels
  • Arranging chassis plates following panel layouts and collaborating with Electrical Design Draughtsmen to optimise designs
  • Mounting and securing components on chassis plates
  • Wiring control panels accurately to issued diagrams, marking up wiring diagrams upon completion
  • Supporting installation electricians by helping to install panels into filling lines and machines

 

Control Panel Wirer - The Person

  • Qualified in Electrical Engineering (e.g., Apprenticeship)
  • Experience with automated production machinery or similar capital equipment is desirable
  • Comfortable working in project environments and cross-functional teams
  • Systematic, methodical, and detail-focused approach to work
  • Curious and flexible, eager to learn and tackle new challenges
  • Excellent communicator, able to collaborate with engineering teams and shop floor staff
