Automation Engineer - The Role:

  • Carry out electrical engineering design and software development on machines
  • Complete design studies and reviews and preparation of specifications for special applications.
  • Completion of the FAT document and ‘as-built’ electrical documentation.
  • Carry out installation, commissioning, and troubling shooting visits at customer sites world-wide, working closely with Service and Aftercare teams. Travel will be required approximately 4-5 times annually, for a week at a time.

 

Technical Skills Required:

• Siemens – Sinamics Motion Control

• AB – Compact Logix, Studio 5000

• AB – Kinetics Motion Control

  • Setup and implementation of vision systems.
  • Create risk assessments and designing safety circuits to meet SIL levels

 

Automation Engineer - The Person:

  • Experience designing electrical control systems for special purpose machinery.
  • Experience in compiling BOM’s and MRP uploads.
  • Knowledge of safety equipment and standards
  • Siemens or Allen Bradley PLC programming experience.
  • Experienced with commissioning machines to FAT protocol.
  • Experience in providing remote programming support.

  • Excellent communicator with ability to build relationships across all departments.
  • Willingness to collaborate and support others.
