This world leading premium brand within their sector  are seeking a Controls and Automation Engineering Manager to join their team in Cambridgeshire.

 

Controls & Automation Engineering Manager   

 

£50,000 - £60,000 + 33 Days Holiday, Pension, Health, Bonus

Controls & Automation Engineering Manager - The Role:

  • Supervision of a small Engineering team with support from the Technical Director
  • Supervision of a small Production team with support from a Production Assistant
  • Generate new or modify existing PLC code for custom equipment and bespoke machinery
  • Create electrical drawings for new machine orders and modified circuits
  • Support Production with machine builds including machine testing, software development and electric panel building
  • Support Engineering with product development and ongoing machine improvement here in the UK and the production facility in China
  • Support the China facility with production issues relating to engineering design, controls, software and electrical drawings
  • Find solutions for obsolete electrical parts and generate new electrical drawings to accommodate any changes
  • Ensure equipment complies with the latest safety standards and directives and CE marking
  • Support Field Service Engineers as required for PLC or Electrical guidance
  • Help with writing the technical manuals

 

Controls & Automation Engineering Manager - The Person:

  • Strong PLC knowledge, preferably with Omron CX Programmer and Sysmac
  • Experience in machine manufacturing, R&D and design
  • Electrical Engineering knowledge with the ability to produce electrical drawings
  • Understanding of machine safety and CE requirements
  • Mechanical knowledge for both hands on activity and understanding manufacturing drawings
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatics systems would be beneficial
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to communicate at all levels

 

Located in Cambridgeshire, this role would be commutable from Cambridge, Bedford, Peterborough, Wellingborough and Corby.
