A world-class manufacturer of bespoke heavy machinery are now looking for a Test & Commissioning Engineer to join their team. Working closely with the electrical, programming, and testing teams to stay informed on the latest improvements and component updates, enabling you to effectively support new machine upgrades in the field.

Commissioning Engineer - The Role:

  • Provide remote support to commissioning engineers, including fault-finding and software modifications via remote login
  • Set up remote machine connections in the field, liaising with customer IT departments to establish secure access
  • Perform upgrades and modifications on customers’ existing equipment as required
  • Travel to customer sites to commission equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, ensure reliable and efficient operation, and train customers in equipment use and maintenance
  • Support the service desk by assisting with technical issues reported by customers on existing machinery
  • Work closely with the electrical, programming, and testing teams to stay informed on the latest improvements and component updates, enabling you to effectively support new machine upgrades in the field
  • Ensure all documentation, reports, and job-related paperwork are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner

 

Commissioning Engineer - The Person:

  • Ability to program/modify PLC programs
  • Experience of Mitsubishi, Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC
  • Good fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of remote machinery connections/networking
  • Flexibility to travel when required

 

Approximately 80% of your time will be office-based, providing remote support to site-based commissioning engineers. The remaining 20% of your time will involve travel to customer sites - either when remote support is insufficient, when on-site presence is more efficient, or when direct support for the commissioning team is required

 

Located in East Anglia, ideal commutable locations would include Peterborough, Spalding, Wisbech, Huntingdon, Cambridge, Corby
