Control Systems Engineer

£50-60k + Pension + 25 Days Holidays + Health Insurance + Profit Share

Control Systems Engineer - The Role:

  • Design and specify control systems, safety solutions, and electrical components for complex industrial automation
  • Develop electrical schematics and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Plan control system architecture and write technical specs & process flow diagrams
  • Collaborate closely with Design & Applications Engineers to ensure on-time, high-quality project delivery
  • Program and test PLC based industrial control systems (Siemens & Allen Bradley)
  • Conduct electrical testing on newly built machines
  • Conduct electrical testing and commissioning of new systems
  • Support system installation and provide aftercare (minimal UK/international travel – less than 5%)

 

Control Systems Engineer  - The Person:

  • 3+ years’ experience in PLC programming and electrical panel design
  • Strong understanding of machine safety standards and electrical regulations
  • Solid understanding of industrial communications (Profinet/Profibus, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, OPC, IO-Link, etc.)
  • Degree in Electrical, Control, or Automation Engineering (2:1 or above preferred)
  • Interest in robotics or AI-driven automation advantageous

This is an office-based role easily commutable from within and around Reading, Didcot, Swindon and Oxford. Site work is required but will involve less than c5% of tie away from home.
