Service & Commissioning Engineer - The Role:
Commissions equipment on customer sites in UK, Europe and occasionally worldwide.
Takes full responsibility for Health and Safety on our own on-site activities.
Achieves close liaison with on-site contractors and engineers and customers, in order to ensure successful completion of commissioning.
Responsible for the training process with customer.
Attends meetings with customer to provide advice and support.
Services equipment on customer sites in UK, Europe and occasionally Worldwide.
Attends emergency service calls and also planned calls to customers.
Ascertains nature of equipment problem and ensures that all necessary spares and tools are available.
Liaison with all levels of client companies through the MD/Owner level.
Has a good knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations in order to be fully responsible for Health & Safety of equipment during commissioning. Is aware of all associated safety issues to ensure own personal safety when on site.
Keeps abreast of changes in legislation on Health & Safety Regulations.
Reports daily to the Service Manager on progress of service/commissioning.
Produces brief comprehensive reports in writing for company records.
Produces clear, concise verbal and written reports on issues where difficulties or disputes have arisen.
Service & Commissioning Engineer - The Person:
ONC/HNC Electrical or minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 3 years within an industrial service industry
Skilled in hands-on electrical engineering.
Broad based engineering knowledge.
Fully aware of Health & Safety legislation and requirements.
Commercial awareness.
Experience of hydraulics and mechanics.
Ability to work within potentially hazardous environments.
Should have spent time away from home.
Experience of working abroad.
Involvement in foundry environment (advantageous).
