The Automation Support Engineers will work across a portfolio of bespoke infrastructure projects for a company who have successfully increased their turnover from £3M to £15M in just three years.

 

System Support Engineer  - The Role:

  • Provide technical support to clients, responding to enquiries, troubleshooting system issues, and resolving problems efficiently to minimise downtime
  • Conduct routine inspections, system audits, and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the continuous operation and reliability of control systems
  • Identify and analyse complex system faults
  • Implement system modifications, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Train end-users and support personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems

 

System Support Engineer  - The Person:

  • Full UK Driving License - you will be provided a company vehicle when travelling to site. Please note these are all manual transmission therefore your license must reflect this
  • Previous experience in providing technical support for control systems or similar systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in control systems, such as PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text)
  • Familiarity with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and HMI (Human Machine Interface)
  • Familiarity with industry-standard control system protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, or Ethernet/IP
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

 

Located on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, this role would be commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Ripley and Loughborough. We are looking for Engineers happy to be office based c40% of the time with c60% of your time spent on site for UK based projects. This will include night shifts and a 1 in 6 rota to spend a complete week away from home to cover a specific contract.
