Applications Engineer - Machine Vision/AI

Applications Engineer - The Role:
- Design and implement machine vision applications for a range of automated inspection systems
- Collaborate closely with a talented team of engineers, suppliers, and customers to deliver complete project solutions.
- Produce technical documentation, specifications, and test studies to ensure robust system design.
- Support machine build, installation, and commissioning (including FAT & SAT).
- Provide on-site and remote training to customers, helping operators get the best from their new systems.
- Create vision demos and proof-of-concept solutions for proposals and evaluations.
You’ll be based at the Oxfordshire HQ, with occasional UK travel (around 5–10%) for site commissioning and training visits – typically short trips of 2–3 days.
Applications Engineer - The Person:
- Degree-qualified in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an engineering environment – automation or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Interest in machine vision, image processing, optics, or AI technology.
- Hands-on approach with a proactive attitude and strong communication skills.

This is an office-based role easily commutable from within and around Reading, Didcot, Swindon and Oxford. Site work is required.
