We are looking for a methodical Engineer able to remain calm under pressure, preferably with a panel wiring background with some panel test ability, who is keen to move into an Electrical Test role offering technical development.
Electrical Test Technician - The Role:
- Ensure both quality and functionality are checked to the highest standards
- Able to read and understand mechanical and electrical technical drawings
- Ensure components are correct to the electrical design and function appropriately
- Be responsible for the calibration aspects of all in house test equipment
- Take responsibility for test rigs, technology and training equipment
- Quality check to ensure build and wiring standards meet and comply with requirements
- Check, pre power tests and functional testing of control panels including PLC I/O and VSDs
- Insulation and resistance testing of power distribution
- Diligently record test results and log failure accurately, identifying faults and correct as required
- Feedback concerns and failures to the relevant teams
- Panel build and wiring activity when testing is not required
- VSD bench repairs for AC and DC drives
Electrical Test Technician - The Person:
- Apprenticeship / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics
- Electrical/electronic relevant engineering qualification
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Capable of using initiative and paying close attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, capable of prioritising
The right person will be able to test the panel up to panel on. This client is then keen to continue your development to enable you to do I/O testing and be running motors/drives. Ideally, you will have an interest to partake in site work for UK projects for retrofit & installation of panels.
You will work on panels for projects within Steel, FMCG, Renewable Energy, Automotive and Warehousing to name a few. Working from a modern, purpose built facility, you will join a full automation engineering team offering huge potential for on-going training & development.
Located in Shropshire, this role is commutable from Telford, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Stafford. Monday-Friday 8-4. Overtime available if you want to, not required.
