This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the full procurement and materials management function, working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure timely, cost-effective supply and optimal stock control across UK and US operations.

Procurement & Materials Manager - The Role:

  • Lead and develop the Purchasing and Materials teams to achieve departmental and company targets.
  • Oversee purchase order approvals and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Manage supplier relationships, pricing agreements, contracts, and call-off orders.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Implement stock analysis and control measures to optimise inventory levels.
  • Plan and coordinate materials requirements to support production schedules.
  • Lead company-wide stock takes and report results to senior management.
  • Set and maintain high standards and procedures across the procurement and materials functions.

 

Procurement & Materials Manager - The Person:

  • Proven experience in a senior procurement or materials management role, ideally within an OEM or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical capabilities.
  • Commercially astute with a results-driven mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with a disciplined approach to materials control and planning.
  • Flexible, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.

 

Located in Shropshire, this role would be commutable from Shrewsbury, Telford, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Stafford and surrounding areas.
