Electrical Panel Builder / Wirer

£35,000 - £38,000 + c10% Bonus + c10% Pension

Electrical Panel Builder / Wirer - The Role:

  • Build electrical control cabinets, remote boxes and terminal boxes from engineering schematics and layouts
  • Wire plant and equipment in line with issued cable schedules, including installation of trunking and cable tray
  • Ensure high standards of cable routing and presentation, maintaining neatness and minimising waste
  • Work closely with engineering to verify and update schematics and cable schedules
  • Carry out electrical testing of plant and equipment under production supervision
  • Support achievement of project/job budgets in collaboration with production teams
  • Perform electrical repairs to workshop plant and machinery as required
  • Conduct PAT testing of company portable appliances
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to carry out electrical installation work

 

Electrical Panel Builder /Wirer - The Person:

  • Qualified to 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Proven experience in panel building and industrial plant wiring
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and cable schedules
  • High attention to detail with pride in neat and professional cable management
  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with engineering and production teams
  • Budget-conscious with awareness of production targets
  • Ideally holds forklift and scissor lift licences and comfortable working at height
  • Flexible and willing to travel when required

 

Located in the Glasgow area, this role would be commutable from Cumbernauld, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Motherwell, Larkhall and surrounding areas.
