A growing engineering business is expanding its in-house controls capability following the successful delivery of two major infrastructure projects. Having entered the full-machine build space for the first time, the company has already successfully delivered two major multi-million pound projects. With strong project momentum and a clear pipeline ahead, the next phase is to bring electrical design fully in-house.
Until now, panel builders have supported both design and manufacture. The goal going forward is to create robust, detailed electrical designs in-house and issue complete packages for build — giving greater technical control and flexibility.

- Electrical design for control systems (full drawing packages for manufacture)
- Supporting major infrastructure projects
- Occasional site surveys for refurbishment projects
- Working alongside panel builders and electrical contractors
- Optional involvement in commissioning (flexibility required for short periods during project completion)
Commissioning involvement is open — some team members prefer hands-on delivery, others focus purely on design. The business is flexible.
Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
- Experience producing electrical drawings independently
- PLC programming capability advantageous
- Practical, adaptable, and delivery-focused
- Keen to grow with a department that is being built properly from the ground up
This is a supportive, down-to-earth engineering team with a genuinely positive working culture.
- Hybrid working (typically 3 days in office, flexible depending on workload)
- 40-hour week with flexitime
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- 4% pension contribution
- Healthcare support
- Travel expenses covered on office days
