Electrical Controls Engineer - The Role:

  • Lead complex electrical engineering projects including FAT and SAT activities
  • Produce technical documentation such as control philosophies, FDS and C&E documentation
  • Develop detailed cable schedules and block cable diagrams
  • Design and coordinate cable routing and containment with mechanical teams
  • Program, test and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems (TIA Portal)
  • Support site installation and commissioning activities
  • Prepare project costings and labour estimates to support the sales team
  • Provide technical support to internal engineers and external customers

 

Electrical Controls Engineer - The Person:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical for schematic design
  • Hands-on PLC/HMI programming experience (TIA Portal essential)
  • Experience with industrial networks (Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team

 

This role will be c50% PLC software, 40%  project work and 10% electrical design. Any supporting knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR is beneficial but not essential.

 

Located in Manchester, this role would be commutable from Rochdale, Bolton, Oldham, Huddersfield, Blackburn and surrounding areas.
