A leading manufacturer of high-tech bespoke machinery is now on the lookout for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their close-knit team.
Part of a global technology group, the business combines expertise in many different areas to help blue-chip manufacturers improve productivity, quality and manufacturing performance across sectors including Medical Devices, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics and Precision Engineering.
Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role:
- Design bespoke mechanical solutions for machine vision and industrial automation systems using SolidWorks
- Develop mechanical concepts, detailed drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Produce pneumatic system designs, schematics and component layouts
- Specify mechanical components for bespoke automation and inspection equipment
- Create machine renders and concept visuals to support customer presentations and sales activities
- Work closely with Design and Applications Engineering teams to deliver projects on time
- Support the development of innovative machine vision and automation technologies
- Assist with the hands-on mechanical build and development of bespoke systems where required
Mechanical Design Engineer – What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years' Mechanical Design experience within Industrial Automation or Special Purpose Machinery
- Strong SolidWorks 3D CAD experience
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience designing pneumatic systems and mechanical assemblies
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple projects and work effectively to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
Desirable Experience:
- Machine Vision or Vision System integration
- Rendering software such as Blender or SolidWorks Visualize
- 3D printing technologies
- Full UK Driving Licence
