Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a varied, hands-on role working with bespoke automation and industrial machinery?

Join a specialist engineering businaess delivering tailored automation solutions, where you'll be involved in electrical panel wiring, machinery installation, system refurbishment and technical troubleshooting. With a mainly office-based role and limited overnight stays, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills across a variety of engineering projects.

The Role:

• Wire and fit electrical control panels for industrial automation systems
• Install electrical systems and components to bespoke machinery
• Support the installation of special purpose machinery and automation equipment
• Carry out control system refurbishment and modifications
• Assist with testing, fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Support PLC modifications and robotic integration where required
• Manage internal stores and liaise with purchasing to ensure components are available
• Travel to customer sites for installation and service work, mainly on day trips

The Person:

• NVQ Level 4 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years' relevant industry experience
• Experience wiring electrical panels for industrial automation
• Background working with bespoke machinery projects
• Understanding of PLC systems and robotic integration
• Practical electrical installation and fault-finding skills
• Organised, proactive and comfortable working independently and within a team

Experience with PLC fault-finding, testing and modifications is highly advantageous, with potential for a higher salary depending on your skills and experience.

Located in Cambridgeshire, this role would be commutable from St Ives, Huntingdon, St Neots, Sandy, Cambridge, Peterborough, Bedford and Ely.
