Are you an experienced Control System Design Engineer looking to work on complex industrial systems within a global engineering environment?
Join a global leader in fluid-flow technology, supporting the design, development and improvement of control systems for modular and packaged engineering solutions.
You’ll combine hands-on controls design with engineering change control, manufacturing support and product development, working closely with customers, production and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Control Systems Engineer- The Role:
- Act as the Design Authority for controls projects, ensuring consistent standards and design practices.
- Design and develop control panel hardware, electrical schematics and control system software.
- Produce all technical documentation.
- Review P&IDs, block diagrams and schematics with customers and internal teams.
- Attend client and internal design reviews, providing technical support throughout projects.
- Conduct FATs and support SATs and commissioning where required.
- Support NPI, ensuring a smooth transition from design into production.
- Participate in DFMA, VA/VE and product standardisation activities.
- Provide technical support to production teams, helping troubleshoot issues and reduce downtime.
- Work with manufacturing, project management and customers to deliver effective solutions.
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, low-volume, high-value manufacturing environment.
- Support continuous improvement across engineering and production processes.
Control Systems Engineer- The Person:
You should have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with industrial control systems, control panel design and automation.
- Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, schematics, PLCs, HMIs and related technologies.
- Experience with engineering change control, BOM management and manufacturing documentation.
- Proficiency with CAD packages such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, welding, structural steel and modular build.
- Understanding of relevant standards, including EN BS 1090.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in a low-volume, high-value environment.
- Experience creating SOPs, work instructions and visual standards, plus delivering training.
- Knowledge of QMS, ideally ISO 9001.
- Strong project management, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A full UK driving licence.
