Are you an organised, hands-on Storesperson who wants to take ownership of a stores function and make a real difference within a busy engineering environment? Join a growing engineering business specialising in bespoke automation machinery, where you’ll play a key role in improving stock control, streamlining parts availability, and creating a more efficient working environment for the engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a developing stores area, including a new racking system designed to give fitters easier access to the components they need to build complex machinery. You’ll have the freedom to make the role your own, implement improvements, and help shape how the stores function operates day to day.

Leicestershire

Ref: 25775

Storeperson - The Role:

  • Take ownership of stock control, ensuring accurate inventory records and effective stock management
  • Manage the receipt, checking, storage and distribution of engineering components and materials
  • Organise and maintain the stores area, ensuring parts are clearly labelled, accessible and stored safely
  • Take responsibility for a new racking and storage system behind the machines, helping create an efficient, well-organised workspace for fitters
  • Ensure engineering teams have the correct parts and components available when needed to keep builds on schedule
  • Monitor stock levels, identify shortages and coordinate replenishment where required
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements, goods received and materials issued
  • Work closely with fitters, engineers, purchasing and other departments to support day-to-day operations
  • Identify opportunities to improve stock accuracy, stores layout and material flow

Storeperson - The Person:

  • Previous experience in a stores, stock control, warehouse or materials management role
  • Strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to stock management
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with the confidence to take ownership and implement improvements
  • Able to communicate effectively with engineers, fitters and other departments
  • Comfortable working independently, managing priorities and keeping things running smoothly
  • Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous

This is more than a traditional stores role. With investment being made in a new racking and storage setup, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of the area, establish an effective system and make a genuine impact on how the engineering team operates. By ensuring components are organised, stock is controlled and parts are readily available, you’ll help fitters work more efficiently and keep machinery builds moving.

For someone who enjoys organisation, problem-solving and having responsibility, this is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist engineering business where you can put your own stamp on the role and develop it as the business grows.

Located in Leicestershire, this role would be commutable from Leicester, Whetstone, Wigston, Oadby and other surrounding areas.
