An expanding machinery manufacturer is looking to recruit a motivated individual to join its growing sales department. This is an excellent opportunity to combine your engineering knowledge with commercial awareness, working alongside an experienced team on bids, quotations, tenders and technical proposals.

The Role

Working within the sales department, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing quotations, bids, tenders and commercial proposals.
• Reviewing customer requirements and interpreting technical specifications.
• Working closely with engineering and other internal departments to develop suitable solutions.
• Supporting pricing, costing and commercial documentation.
• Liaising with customers and suppliers to obtain technical and commercial information.
• Developing an understanding of the company's machinery, products and markets.
• Supporting the sales team in identifying new business opportunities and contributing to continued growth.
• Undertaking UK and international travel when required.

The Ideal Candidate

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, ideally with First-Class Honours or a strong degree classification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and an interest in technical sales.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive, organised approach with a willingness to learn.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• A genuine interest in combining engineering expertise with business and customer-facing activities.

Location and Eligibility

The position is based in South West of England near to Plymouth, Dartmoor National Park and The Tamar Valley

Candidates must currently reside in the UK and be willing to relocate to this area and already have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.
