Urgently required: Specialist PLC Systems Engineer with a deep understanding of automated machinery within the pharmaceutical/medical field. Service & Commissioning Engineer - The Role:

  • Providing both remote and on-site service for Schneider PLC control systems across various complex & high-speed packaging lines
  • Analysing problems, troubleshooting issues, optimising and extending software and documenting processes
  • Pre-commissioning of camera stations in the EU headquarters
  • Commissioning (hard-/software) of applications or complete stations remotely or on site at our worldwide customers
  • Conducting and documenting feasibility studies  
  • Carrying out customer training on site
  • Work in close cooperation with project/sales managers and the control systems department

 

Commissioning Engineer - The Person:

  • A degree in engineering, computer science or similar, or advanced education with significant experience in automation & mechatronics
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in commissioning of PLC software – must have the ability to fault find & amend as needed
  • General knowledge of machinery automation  
  • Experience of medical and pharmaceutical automation essential

 

85-90% of their machinery is controlled by Schneider PLC’s, therefore you must have some knowledge and ability with Schneider to build on. You do not have to be a Schneider expert but must be happy to transfer your skills.

 

Travel is an essential part of this role as you will spend much of your time working away with clients all over the UK. You will spend the first 2-3 months training in Germany, returning home every other weekend. Once trained, you can expect to spend 70-80% of your time travelling.

 

This role is home based. You should be in easy reach of an international airport and the motorway network. Ideal locations would include the greater Midlands, South Yorkshire, Bristol, M4 Corridor, within and around Manchester and across to Peterborough.
